The kelly handbag is made from Alligator Caiman Crocodylus Chiapasius skin.  The Alligator Caiman Crocodylus handbag had been hand polished with special buffing pads to a matte finish.  The Kelly Handbag comes with lock, keys and four feet on the bottom of the bag.

History of the Grace Kelly Birkin Bag, aka Morocco Bag c/1880

The world famous Hermes of Paris would update the Morocco Bag to give it the shape it has today.  In reality, Hermes has remodeled this handbag many times.  It was the new updated Hermes version of the Morocco bag that Hermes presented to actress Grace Kelly after her marriage to Prince Rainer of Monaco.

Hermes has come up with many unique creations when it comes to handbags; however, the one bag which remains very famous and in style is the Hermes Kelly bag which was named after the actress Grace Kelly.  This handbag is now called a Kelly Birkin bag because British actress Jane Birkin asked Hermes to redesign the interior of the bag.  This new version is now called a Birkin bag.

 

The Grace Kelly Birkin handbag remains an international prestige symbol of high fashion.  It is carried today by the most influential celebrities.  Celebrity Victoria Beckham has a collection of handbags valued at over 1.5 Million British Pounds and a vintage 2004 alligator Kelly handbag is valued for more than $50,000.00 USD.
